Individualized Dog Training for Real-World Success

At Intuitive Wolf K9 Training, we provide individualized dog training designed to create reliable behavior where it actually matters — in everyday life.

Serving dog owners throughout Northern Vermont, including Grand Isle and Franklin Counties, our programs are built around the individual dog, the challenges you're experiencing, and the goals you have for your life together.

We typically begin training in a lower-distraction environment where we can establish clear communication, structure and obedience. As your dog develops a stronger foundation, we transition those skills into real-world environments with increasing distractions.

The goal isn't simply a dog who performs during a training session. We want to help you develop a dog who understands what is expected and can reliably respond in everyday life.

Consultation & Evaluation

Every training program begins with a one-on-one Consultation & Evaluation.

This gives us the opportunity to meet you and your dog, discuss your concerns, evaluate behavior and temperament, and determine which training approach is appropriate for your individual situation.

During your consultation, we will:

✔️ Discuss behavioral concerns and training goals in detail
✔️ Evaluate your dog's current behavior and training needs
✔️ Explain our training philosophy and techniques
✔️ Answer questions about our programs and approach
✔️ Provide a live demonstration with one of our personal dogs

Following the evaluation, we'll recommend a training plan based on your dog's individual needs and your goals.

Consultation & Evaluation: $150

Individualized Puppy Training

8-Week Puppy Training Program | Ages 3–7 Months

The behaviors you establish during puppyhood become the foundation you're going to live with later.

Our 8-week Individualized Puppy Training Program helps owners establish communication, structure, boundaries and obedience during one of the most important developmental stages of a dog's life.

Through weekly one-on-one sessions, we'll teach you how to create an environment that supports your puppy's development while preventing unwanted behaviors from becoming established habits.

Training may include:

✔️ Leash skills
✔️ Sit and down
✔️ Place
✔️ Recall foundations
✔️ Engagement and communication
✔️ Impulse control
✔️ Appropriate household behavior
✔️ Structure and boundaries
✔️ Exposure to new environments and distractions
✔️ Foundations for future advanced obedience

As your puppy progresses, we begin introducing appropriate real-world distractions so that the skills you're developing aren't limited to your home or training sessions.

8-Week Puppy Training Program: $1,500

This program is intended for puppies between 3 and 7 months of age who are not already displaying significant aggressive behavior. Puppies exhibiting aggression may require a Behavior Modification Program following evaluation.

High-Level Obedience Training

8-Week Obedience Program | Dogs 7 Months & Older

Our High-Level Obedience Training Program is designed for owners who want more than basic commands.

Over eight weeks of individualized training, we develop communication, reliability, impulse control and obedience that can be carried into increasingly distracting real-world environments.

Training may include:

✔️ Heel
✔️ Sit
✔️ Down
✔️ Place
✔️ Stay and duration work
✔️ Reliable recall
✔️ Impulse control
✔️ Leash manners
✔️ Off-leash reliability when appropriate
✔️ Focus around environmental distractions
✔️ Public and community training

As your dog progresses, training moves beyond controlled environments and into real-life situations where reliability matters.

The result we're working toward is not simply obedience — it's a dog and handler who clearly understand how to communicate with one another.

8-Week High-Level Obedience Program: $1,700

Aggression & Reactive Behavior Modification

Living with serious reactivity or aggression can make everyday situations difficult — walking your dog, having visitors, going into public, visiting the veterinarian, or simply managing your household.

Our Behavior Modification Program is individualized to the dog and the behaviors being addressed.

Training begins with identifying triggers, understanding patterns of behavior, establishing clearer communication and creating greater structure between dog and handler.

Depending on the individual dog, training may incorporate structured exposure, desensitization, counter-conditioning, reinforcement, appropriate corrections, impulse-control work and obedience.

Just as importantly, owners learn how their own timing, handling and communication affect their dog's behavior so that progress can continue outside of our sessions.

This program may be appropriate for dogs displaying:

✔️ Human-directed aggression
✔️ Dog reactivity
✔️ Reactivity toward people
✔️ Lunging or threatening behavior
✔️ Significant impulse-control problems
✔️ Trigger-specific aggressive behavior

Because behavioral cases vary considerably in severity and complexity, program length and cost are determined following the Consultation & Evaluation.

Behavior Modification Programs: 10–20 Weeks
Program Investment: $2,000–$3,000 depending on severity and training needs

Service Dog Training

Hands-On Service Dog Training Program

Service dog training requires far more than basic obedience.

Our hands-on Service Dog Training Program is designed to help eligible handlers develop the obedience, public-access reliability and disability-related task work necessary for a working service dog.

Training is individualized according to the handler's needs and the dog's suitability for service work.

The program may include:

✔️ Advanced obedience
✔️ Public-access manners
✔️ Focus around distractions
✔️ Environmental exposure
✔️ Handler communication
✔️ Disability-related task training
✔️ Real-world public training

Our goal is to help develop a confident, reliable working partnership between dog and handler.

Who Qualifies for a Service Dog?

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is a dog individually trained to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability. The work or tasks performed by the dog must be directly related to that person's disability.

Participation in training does not guarantee that every dog will ultimately be suitable for service work. Temperament, health, behavior and the dog's ability to perform reliably in public environments must all be considered.

6-Month Hands-On Service Dog Training Program: $4,500

Therapy Dog Training

4-Month Therapy Dog Training Program

Therapy dogs require excellent manners, emotional stability and the ability to remain calm and responsive in environments that may include unfamiliar people, medical equipment, unusual sounds and significant distractions.

Our 4-month Therapy Dog Training Program provides individualized, hands-on training designed to prepare appropriate dogs and handlers for therapy work in environments such as hospitals, schools, nursing homes and community programs.

Training progresses from obedience foundations into advanced skills and real-world practice.

Program highlights may include:

✔️ Basic and advanced obedience
✔️ Calm greetings and appropriate social interaction
✔️ Impulse control
✔️ Desensitization to medical equipment and unusual environments
✔️ Environmental exposure
✔️ Handler communication
✔️ Group training
✔️ Field trips and real-world practice

4-Month Therapy Dog Training Program: $3,500

Training That Goes Beyond the Training Session

At Intuitive Wolf K9 Training, we believe owners should understand how to communicate with their dogs — not become dependent on a trainer forever.

That's why our programs are hands-on.

You'll learn how to give clear direction, follow through consistently, reinforce appropriate behavior and maintain the structure your dog needs after formal training ends.

We build the foundation together, then progressively challenge those skills in the environments where you actually need them.

Real-life training for real-life dogs.
